Ring That Doorbell

Welcome back!

With a million things that happened within that span of blog inactivity...
It is best summarising them in a short post.

Work

Model finally validated :D :D :D
All the blood, sweat, tears and angst had finally came to bear fruit.
Oh-so-sweet fruit. Oh yeah.

And yes, we are going to Europe.

A week in London.
(Shall I revisit the London Eye?)

A week in Vienna, Austria.
(Hellooo Schonbrunn Palace).

(And I got the Sound of Music ringing in my ears. Yes that was where it was filmed at).

And two weeks getting lost in Europe. Czech Republic & Italy particularly.
(First to the dancing house, Prague).

(And then to Venice, the ultimate city of romantic, gondolas & masquerades).

It's finally worth it. Oh yeah.

The Freeloaders

Come this month, we shall start playing at some events.
Project Identity on 15 July.
The Army gig on 19 July.
Hope to get some opening/resident gigs soon.
Do let me know if you guys have any places in mind where we can patronize (or rather, terrorize hurhur).

Finally heard the Unexpected play at Wala's.
Woah the singer's one powerful, sexy singer in her own moody way.
And the guitarist, he's like Uncle Vic 10 years down the road.
He's tt amazing.

Very much inspired to hit the pubs.
Soon, soon. *crosses fingers*

Salsa

Began twirling at The Union Square proper on Fridays.
Time to get the groove back.
Sway, waist. Stay, shoulders.

Some of the SherryTreeFriends kaki are back for the hols.
Welcome back Wing, Bri, Cheryl, Youyi.
Ah the company of the wacky peeps again.

Sad to see dear Ying leave for Aussie for her studies.
All the best babe, cu soon in Dec! Hugz.

(Reunion of the Quatro Loco. Almost. Porsh, come back alr!)

Indonesia

Absolutely amazing.
Will upload the pics next month.
Sorry Adi, about the cam.
So much for travelling on a budget lol. We're now broke again.
Now if only I could get OT pay. Sigh.

(A lil preview. Prambanan temple: spot the fusion of the ancient and the new).

(The Garuda statue: hailed to be taller than the Statue of Liberty upon completion).

Geraldine's Wedding
Attended my first classmate's wedding on 07-07-07.
A hot wedding date indeed.
Had to reject 2 other receptions to travel back to M'sia to see the beautiful bride and groom tie the knot at the Palace of the Golden Horses.

Hmm, ideas on a perfect wedding.
Maybe I shall turn it into a rock concert.
With spotlights & smokescreens.
Right. Lol.

Tennis
Picked it up again as well.
Been playing on weekends, except lately.
Have been a bit busy running about.
Oh well, hope to whack some balls soon.
That always seem to have some... therapeutic effect... on me.
Must be the feeling of raw power tingling in one's hands.
Now if only I could move my feet as quickly too.

As for the rants on the world, those shall wait.
Once those darker inspirations hit.
Hurhur.

Garden

I see flowers in the garden. I think.
It's gonna be a beautiful day.

(Updated bit)

Malted Milk

Finally managed to drag a few Rockers & Jin down to the Old Brown Shoe to watch the blues duo Malted Milk.
Ah pek Victor was on fire with the blues guitar as usual.
The singer (watshername = Anjana) was pretty impressive for a raw talent.
And they featured guest performers Surath & The Harmonica (watshisname = Kelvin "Smokey" Ng) guy.

Dodgy videos are up on multiply:
Malted Milk (Original)
Malted Milk (ft. Surath)
Malted Milk (ft. Harmonica Guy)

Rockers in action: Surath & Ah pek

Jin and I. Thx for coming along dear!

NgeeAnn Poly Tv Show

Crashed Soongfee's Media & Film studies studio while volunteering to be a salsa labrat for their TV show project.
Had to check out the funky equipment and all.

School of Media & Film studies, and the Grafitti wall.

Soongfee's current proj: TV studies

The students hard at work with the props n cam

The control/editing room (i think)

The Runaround

Finally took pics! *smug look*
The interior at Stickyrice was superb.
All maroon and black. I like.
Unfortunately, the silly phone cam couldn't do justice for the chic red glow.
This'll do, for now.

For the curious, check out their new branch @Raffles City :D

Stickyrice. And the Red bar, drool

The food: Thai. Pretty good, yum.
The company: Fantastic.
The atmosphere: 80s ballads? Lol at least someone's happy with tt lah.

Barley. Extra Tall.

Stumbled upon a novel sight at Bugis:
Recall the pedestration crossing btw Seiyu & Bugis Market?
The island was overflowing with ppl such tt the traffic wouldn't budge. At all.
Funny how the crossing further down was deserted. Lol.

Push & budge

Bugis market itself was also ridden with humans.
Hate crowds. Got sweaty too. Grr.
But it was worth the Puma bag & the Rugged tee.

And look! Giant Buns!

Randomcity

No introduction needed.

Had to post this poster's version of Crash. Powerful words.
Yet to rewatch it though, heh.

Who's the piglet? :P

Woah, birdcages still exist. Cool

Seriously, egg tart ice cream? :S

Ho Ho Ho

Cina-fied Blogger

Side note:
Woah, apparently the Taiwan earthquake also affected Blogger,
since the China mirror has taken over the website.

Why is everything in Chinese??? grr

Ho Ho Ho

In tune with salsa3's latest brainchild:
Have a SherryTreeFriends Xmas peeps!

This was the most HappyTreeFriend-like I could find.
Enjoy! *oink oink*

A Wet Xmas it was this year. Rain, floods, blackouts.
Train trip on Friday was cancelled (goddammit).
Bought a bus tic as insurance, but ended up flying back on Sun morn to catch Ee Von's house party in time.

My virgin budget airlines experience, it was.
Slow, yeah I am.
But y didn't anyone preempt me on lugging my bag across the runway ground? :S
But I ain't complaining much, not with 2L of potent bottles tinkling in my grasp, muahaha.

(When some things are not worth maintaining...)

(Not even the boarding pass... or should I say receipt?)

(L: Even the plane was as punctual as ever; no sign of it ten mins before departure time)

(R: Wheel markers for the huge A340... the B747... and erm... where is mingy lil AirAsia's?)

To make the delay worthwile, Sat was paked with a million & one things.

Gatecrashed salsa instructors Leo & Bernard's wedding.
(First church wedding ever attended. Short, sweet and beautiful. *Triple turns in delight*)

Then terrorised ESPN (no souvenirs? aww). Plundered through Orchard in search for orange surf pants. Caught Crash while fighting to keep my eyes open (I swear, it was the contacts, not the movie! Promise I'll watch it again :D). Suppered on funny-looking tau-huey.

All the while in a tablecloth & pink heels. I must be mad.

Slept for 30 min before waking up at 5am to catch a kind friend's transport to Senai. Breakfasted there before finally flying off with another unexpected company.

Surprisingly, missing the train wasn't so bad after all. Not with these much lil adventures, heh.

Reprise of the Gsk Xmas

Xmas at the office itself was already in full swing weeks before D-day.

The familiar presence of cards on the desk...

The funky reindeer cupcakes & gingerbread snowmans...

The tantalizing harrods hamper brimming with choc truffles & cookies...

And the best of all, Choc Ciggies from Holland. The best stop-smoking aid ever, lol.

Xmas Tree Hopping

Of course, the city itself was ridden with xmas trees of all shapes and sizes.

Couldn't help but capture some of the nicer ones.

First, for the kinky ones (L): Pink boas, Swarovski crystals and everything else. We'll just need the fluffy handcuffs & g-strings to complete the look.

The gay & happy ones might prefer The Cathay's (R): The pink shirt fad has caught on well.

The more decent ones at VivoCity. Couldn't help imagining (R) as a giant Xmas sundae ice-cream.

Ooo. Angels & baubles. Pretty pretty.

And the prettiest of them all, Paragon's starfish tree. My 2006 fav.

Xmas @Chinatown. The kampung warmth.

Eevie's Xmas Eve

Mmm... and this was what I came back for (Pics courtesy of Sue Ann).
A homecooked feast painstakingly prepared by Ee von's mum, complete with a mini turkey & Xmassy tablecloth. Yum.

Some of the old Smsu gang.

The gals.

The reinder pimp and his elfie slaves. Ooo.

And hail the jolly Santa Boozes: Mr. Vanilla Rum & Mr. Coked Beer.

Home Adventures

The best time of the year was spent lazing around at home, watching dvds, suppering & shopping.

Spending quality time with the special ones. At the Vietnam Kitchen, again. Couldn't get enough of it.

Also realised that the inner section of the restaurant had a totally different interior design.

More funky restaurants @One U: blue leaves & lighted circles.

And look what we found at the rooftop: Wanna play ball?

Not too pricey either. Cool. Now if I only knew how to hold a damn bat.

Random Pics

More random pics:

Little margharitas sitting in a row (courtesy of Ah Boo).

The macho margharita itself (courtesy of Ah Boo).
Tip: Do Not order Blackberry ever.
Taken @CQ during Jerry & Nelsen's visit to S'pore. In the bg's (tai di kaki) Nic in their night long gambling stint with The Rockers Ah Boo, Shi Li & Ah Pek.

A visit to the rustic interior of VivoCity's Toastbox.

Complete with authentic table (& shelf) decor.

Yes tt's one mama tower of Butter.
Which explains why the kaya toasts always taste so great :S

(L): Peanut butter & Floss toasts. Mmm.
(R): Even shelves were decorated with loafs of bread. Interesting.

Ripples in Biopolis pond on a strong windy day.

James behind bars, during KR Acappella carolling practice. Before terrorising Timberland branches citywide. Now you know how mad a bunch of ppl we are heh.

Shy Fongky again. This time hiding behind a sofa pillow.

KR Choir Xmas songs @Borders (courtesy of Ah Boo). Ooo Joel rocks! :D
