Barcelona - Kbox Mania

Finally the post on the kbox mania weekend...
But first my first xmas present frm darling Yingyi... so sweet of her to take the huge effort to wrap it up with such trouble, tho she cheekily threw in a PINK ribbon and hearts, argh... Got a red candle lamp to match my hair, haha... love the beads, thanks dearie! :D

Oh n a lil xmas tree at Jitters... I can hear the sleigh bells ringing

Now 2 Fridays ago I finally succeeded in dragging the salsa bunch down to Barcelona to support the fellow salsa bassist play in Reverie... here you see everyone but the man himself, apparently Shane loves the limelight too much... haha... should be less elusive lah Keith, show yourself!

The long-awaited less dodgy pix of vocals Jon, rhythm Shane and finally Salsaing bassist Keith...

The man behind the mike...

Within hours of good music and a few sips of drinks, the already bonkers ppl start behaving badly... it usually starts with a few feel-good pics of us gals...

Progresses to stuffing fingers up ppl's noses to get some good snorting...

But Brian doesn't really mind, as long as no one takes away his long curvy glass of beer (wat's it called again?)... all mineee, my preciouusss

Posh as usual gets all mischevious n cheeky... first by growing pointy boobs... later by declaring how well he can tongue-tie cherry sticks... but ended up with a half-chewed fibrous lump... not as hell good now eh? (kenneth sniggers)

Heavily inspired by margarita n beer, we were egged on to prove who's the better flirt, ending up with wacky photos... guess who snogged who first? doesn't matter, both can't really act anyway, haha...

Before you even think tt was scandalous, look at wat the crazy gurl does... head rubbing, chewing straws n lemon peels with Posh...n giving a semi-lap dance in a tickling stint... Told ya I'm so much more innocent... *cherub doe-eyed look*

Even more scandalous pics of the crazy two... u won't really know who's enjoyin it more, haha... Not to forget the rowdy tumbling about outside Barcelona... the rest of us couldn't help but look n laugh till we drop at bewildered passerbys n the security guard, oops...

Got Milk? Got Posh... haha

Now u see it, now u don't... amazing how the poses turned out the same too...

The wild bar visit ended on a high note as the band dedicated my fav Bon Jovi's "I'll be there for you" it got me singing my heart out, hehe... thanks lots Jon, owe u roast chicken from Cold Storage next time, haha... and Ah Lim, congrats for being the new member of Reverie, next time play Omnisoul's "Waiting" yeah? heh...

Friendly Jon also offered to give me a lift back to hall, but damn, couldn't make good use of his service since the gang wanted to go karaoke-ing after being thoroughly inspired by the band... but after lotsa dilly-dallying and a fruitless search at Kbox Cineplex ($29 per pax... wat a ripoff), we ended up coffee-ing at Coffee Club in town until 5am... discussing about the philosophies of life n love as we sobered out in the light drizzle of the rain...

By the time we went bk the sun was already peaking out of its dark slumber... felt like those mugging exams days.. but at least this time I slept with a happier heart :o) ...

The next day determined us ventured to kbox again...

Joined them from my divine choc buffet with the neighbors... altho there weren't many to choose from: a fondue fountain, a order-to-drink choc booth n a table for the choc cakes n desserts, we still couldn't finish trying everything...yet to get the pics from ophe... it was good stuff, tho it still does not justify the 32 bucks... not even for the warm n romantic ambience at the fullerton... once is enuff, think i'll stick to cheap kinder buenos and an occasional godiva, mmm...

So bk to the kbox stint, this time we booked marina centre... n everyone wasted no time fighting for the mike...

Thoughtful Brian picked us up on the way in his handsome beamer... guess the rest of us can just aspire to drive one now... hence this

And of course Yingyi was waiting for the opportunity to wear her lil santarita cap singing xmas songs or jumping on sofas to Superstar...

Thank god the majority of the songs sung are in English, I've had one too many traumatic experiences with Chinese hardcores, with me ending up bored to death... and at least these ppl even have the guts to warbling out ear-piercing Phantom of the Opera vibratos and Indian accenting Calcutta... total madness... haha

Expectedly, the man himself showcased his talent of turning this small dingy room into a sleazy cabaret club first by lapdancing an unsuspecting victim...

Demonstrating tongue actions... (eeeeeee)

And seducing the other with tangled legs and all...

Another fun night even with just the 5 of us... Yingyi has a nice mellow alto voice, Kenneth's pretty good with Chinese songs... Brian's still too shy to sing... and Posh has an interesting low range since he speaks with a tenor voice... as for me, I still suck lah, haha... still keep forgetting to use my diaphragm... sure still want me to teach?

And the last pic, my fav urban mood :o)

Jingle Bells

Woke up with a mission today...

Shop.

For xmas that is.

Blimey, never had such a long list before... Never really was too keen on xmas shopping anyway since it's usually the culprit of a major headache. It's a game of guessing if the recipient is going to:

a) really love it (which of course is usually rare)
b) sorta like it but couldn't really find use for it
c) painfully fake a smile while devising a plan to dispose of the piece of crap (which is almost always the case)

How stressful.

Sometimes I would rather compromise the element of surprise for a genuinely appreciated present. A mutual understanding is always good, haha...

At least I bought nothing but for others today... spent a whole day in town since noon, what an accomplishment... oh achy feet. It is a time of giving anyway... now if they won't be too displeased with what I got them, heh... tried my really really best... *crosses fingers*

It wasn't too bad afterall since I had first Jacky to accompany me... then later Felie for dinner at Ichiban... think their budget sushi's the best tasted so far... check out the unagi egg sandwich, mochi & yam/green tea/red bean konyaku jelly... heavenly :D

Anyway checked out xenbar last night coz ladc was closed (wutttt... no one went for loco night???)... great place to social since it was ladies night and the floor was empty save for our bunch... at least it was for the 2 of us gals, since we had 5 guys to choose from for a change instead of waiting alone in a corner hoping to be picked up, haha...

Did a few rounds of casino, learnt a few dips n worked on my basic... still trying to lose the funny t-rex thing i'm doing with my hands, bleah... Found out Grace from year 3 is in the performing group, kewl... now who says pharm students r mundanely muggerish? ok maybe the rest of them, haha...

Three hungry man and only one lil cookie... keith looks as gleeful as always, must have a secret stash in his shoebag...

Posh going all shy for once... aww...

Strutting my stuff on the dancefloor... don't ask about the hands... *bewildered look*

Jump n pose...

Scarlet Divinity

Supposed to blog about wild nights at barcelona n kbox with the salsa gang, but oh well...

Screw chronological order.

Gotta wait for some scandalous juicy pics from kenneth first anyway, haha...

So after a hilarious night at genting on Sat-Sun, I was already bk in the lab in on Mon, but I wasn't complaining since tt night was the office xmas party... had a whale of a time dressing up & donnin up hair-dos at Claire's before stunning the men at our table in our sexy slinky gowns... heck might as well be overdressed n beautiful than be underdressed n scruffy, haha....

Anyway had our dinner at the rooftop of Scarlet Hotel... absolutely gorgeous ambience and divine food... esp. when the 100 bucks/pax meal is provided for, hehe... how lucky is tt... well worth the free labor, lol

The view from the romantic rooftop Breeze restaurant...
n they were playing salsa music too..
there weren't anyone I could grab to dance with tho, damn...

And here are 2 smug-looking fyp students... who says it's not worth travelling out of campus eh? gsk rawks! *burp* :D

Alex is one lucky man for the night, with 2 gorgeous ladies at his side.... no wonder he's all smiles... note the huge Caeser's salad n yummy chocolate martinis...

Did you know he's my age now? At least I felt youthful, haha

Ed, my supervisor...

He's a serious man...

She sucks well...

He swallows better...

After a filling 3-course, the troupe rushed down to the bar for more boozing n fun...

Ben n I were the first to grab the plush pillows n never let go of it since... leaving poor Shab without one...

I swear my alcohol tolerance has increased from the Genting trip, with an improvement to a choc martinii, red wine, white wine, half a tequila shot and another lime-tasting shot... even Ed was impressed, haha...

Guess I wasn't having enuff of them judging from my greedy looks at Agnes's 3 diff types of drinks...

She got so high she attempted to snog an innocent Sherry, and when tt failed, she started attacked poor me with a pillow... but ahh, we're still good friends... *hic*

Ed with korean Sung... I told u he's a very serious man...

Jarrod: "I swear her boobs were that BIG...."

Mike, Claire and the bartender who couldn't give me a decent strawberry margharita, oh tt's a six then...hahaha

On the other side of the bar were posh high-back leather sofas with furry cushions... ooo a must in my future home.. lovely

Alex attempts a sailor pose... *squint*

At 2am, sweet Ben drove a knackered Sherry, Chrissy and James home while the rest were still enthusiastic to adjourn to another bar, this time with a Bollywood setting (not sure which, just know tt it's near Brewerks at Boat Quay)..

And of course they started gyrating to Indian techno on the dancefloor along with volouptous Indian chicks...

And of course my decent-looking supervisor was a fav among the ladies, since he got approached by both women and elves... naughty boy... haha...

It was an unforgettable night, a celebration any norm local company would ever consider.. which further emphasizes the fact that scientists and researchers can indeed work hard n yet make life enjoyable... an inspirational principle of life tt I shall live by...

So my last min change in fyp project is well worth it after all... absolutely thankful for tt :)

Genting Charades

6 sec school friends decided on a drive to Genting, a much awaited outing of sleepless boozing, laughin & crapping about after the memorably crazy '00 Port Dickson trip...

Our stars for the night (Left clockwise): E Hunt, Mei-Foong, Geraldine, Sherry, Jason & Thau Shen...

Jason was especially excited on our lil drive uphill... tho Mei-Foong was threatening to barf around, heh..

At least it got E Hunt's car crawling along fine...

Meet the 3 hot women sashaying to the hotel...

world peace, muah muah *wave*

A misty, windy, chilly day... perfect weather for a holiday full of fun... elevating everyone's already high spirits...

Full of enthusiasm, we eagerly rushed to our rooms in First World to dump our luggage and start partying... 902 for the gals, 904 for the guys and 903 as our private 'playroom'... tho Thau Shen badly wanted to share 903 wif one of the ladies... hahha no way boy!

Altho later tt night, ahem...

Bloody hell, all 3 rooms were still in a hell of a digusting mess, with cigs all over the table, the chair thrown on the bed, ketchup on the desk and floor, n messed up beds asa if the previus occupants had an orgy...

The things ppl do to a hotel room... oh man...

And nope the damn housekeeping weren't around until hours later... since genting was probably making money by stringing on manpower...ugh

Decided tt throwin snowballs at each other would be a good idea, so we checked out Snow World... not much space to play around with considering the size of the place, the throngs of ppl and screaming children infesting it, the soggy ice shavings (damn n i was hoping for falling snow), stinky sweaty jackets n boots...

But it was fun nevertheless with the company we're with, ice sliding and chucking snow down backs...

Here we have Geraldine aspiring to possess droopy ears while E Hunt's ears were so cold they turned all red n numb...

Also checked out Ripley's believe it or not and knocked ourselves out silly getting dizzy from the revolving tunnel, and making a total fool out of ourselves making all kinds of idiotic poses and waving at aunties and little boys thru a one-way mirror... until we later realised it was NOT a one-way mirror at all... hahaha...

Later of course we gals had to answer our primary instinct to shop and dumped the guys at the arcade to get a tops and dresses (doesn't really help when the prices are indeed the same as kl... argh can't help it heh)... Happy and laden with more bags, the group trudged on to the food court in search for cheaper food, but to no avail.. every damn meal cost about RM10 minus the tastiness, shit to think tt I left S'pore in hopes of getting cheap tasty food.. bleah...

Shown here are the proofs of dissatisfation... except for Thau Shen lah... he just eats anything...

Later on, after a few hours at the casino (nah i dun really gamble, suck at it)... we pretended to be typical tourists to blend in with the crowd, ooh-ing and aah-ing over every possible object or decor...

First the enthusiastic Jap tourist pose...

Second an attempt of a Chungking Express feel...
complete with motion blurred background...

Third the rowdy American bloke, taking a piss at a tree...

Some decent shots of the indoor theme park...
brings out the inner child in u, innit?

Omg, this pic totally freaked us out when we saw white ghostly entities on the screen... until E Hunt pointed out it was also drizzling then... cehhh

And FINALLY the rooms are cleaned... not tt it mattered much anyway, coz we eventually turned the bed into a drinking table and a giant kuaci container... This was when we started going bonkers playing all kinds of drinking games to finish the bottle of Absolut Vodka... silly card games, and the ultimate game of charade...

We all almost died laughing at the ridiculously attempts of imitating Monica Lewinsky (someone kept miming a blowjob and the guys started revealing their fav porn stars), William Hung (she bangs she bangs!), Big Mama's House (gotta show some big boobs aye?)

Can't help it... beggar or baboon? hahha

Yup one whole sleepless nite of guffawing and giggling... eventually everyone started dozing off, all squeezed in the playroom... going, going, gone...zzz

More bohliau shots...
only caught suddenly-shy-Thau Shen (who's usually shameless, haha)

6.30am the 4 of us went down for breakfast buffet, leaving zonked out Mei-Foong n Thau Shen (again) alone in the room... bwahahaha...
Unfortunately nothing happened tho...

Breakfast was not too bad, at least they had cereal :D

Jason then decided to take more shots of the sky to catch the sunrise while the rest of us dragged ourselves back to sleep at 7.30am...
First the lovely pink-blue sky

And finally a peek of the sun...

Went bk in the afternoon the next day & finally had decent food (dim sum, mmm) at Sri Petaling... then back home to finally meet mum n dad :D yay...

All in all , a great weekend indeed... shall look forward for the next gathering soon hopefully... maybe xmas next week :D

Insane Busyness

Been absolutely busy this week rushing daily from lab to churn out data before my colleague leaves for UK on sat, to band practice for Overdrive competition audition, and finally to Shi Li's for late-night diva post-mortem & practices...

Not a very healthy lifestyle sleeping 2-3am to rush off for work again innit... Was so tired I caught myself nodding off on the way back from lab, and refusing to leave my bed today lazing about doing absolutely nothing... oh feeling so spineless...

Yes realised I have a million & one things to blog about... will probably start the tedious process of uploading the many many crazy pics next week... so for now, do settle for a summary of the post-exam celebrations:

1. Eski Bar & Geylang trip with project mates
2. Barcelona & Kbox outing with madcap salsa gang
3. Sinful Fullterton choc buffet with giggly neighbors
4. Soon-to-be Genting weekend trip with sec school gang

Audition's tomorrow afternoon, wish us luck! Hope we'll make it to the finals at Momo...looking forward to the free clubbing entrance rather than the prize actually, haha... and no, we dun even freaking know what the heck it is... oh well, at least it'll be good exposure in preparation for JamX...

Couldn't find any form of videoclip of Omnisoul's "Waiting (Save your life)"... wasted... it's something about the riff, the feel and the lyrics that just keeps the song replaying in the head... makes you feel somewhat melancholic yet hopeful at the same time... oh well, maybe it's just my mood heh

Back to Lab

One day after the final paper and I'm back in the lab, fiddling around with more rat organs...
Wouldn't really mind it if I don't have to drag myself out of bed early in the morn everyday :o(
Oh well, all for the love of fyp (yeurgh)

Had our first meeting with the jamx band...
Finally settled on the 2 measly songs for the overdrive audition after 2 whole hours of warfare and bitch-slappin (ok mainly btw vic n i, wat's new, haha)...
Aretha Franklin's Respect & Christina's Fighter...
Woo, will be fun doing some powervocals with Shi li...
Shall hope for the other bands to be lousy enuff to allow us entry to the finals, haha...

Wanted to blog about my marketing proj on PE, but tt'll wait...
What's tt you say?
Wait n see...
