How coincidental...
The day after Yingyi dragged herself to her b'day celebration feeling sick and nauseous... I had to catch the flu myself and spend Sunday dozing away... And I'm yet to finish the marketing report... dammit... looks like the weekend didn't even help wear out the feeling of weariness, hopelessness and numbness... sigh, and you would've thought it couldn't get any worse...
Couldn't drag myself to lab today either... still kinda feverish, but at least it's a welcome break to have time for myself... when i'm not in dreamland that is, heh... I'll prob make a good zombie in tune with today's Halloween, with a pale face, bleary eyes and a stoned expression...
Ah well, should be fine by tomorrow... since they're my usual signs... sore throat day 1, fever day 2, cough day 3... n my mini-pharmacy's well in stock, heh... so for those who r also in need, let me know if u need anything :o)

Llamee the Llama
Yeah that's how uninspired I am today heh...
Wanted to adopt a dog.. but since Stan has gotten it...
Figured I get me a nice lil llama... and it makes cute cooing sounds when u click on it, haha

Monotone
Have you ever had those kinda days when u just don't feel like doing anything at all?
Not even with a deadline at four, heaps of assignments, and the mother-of-all exams looming nearby...
Sigh, can't be bothered already... haven't been doing anything vaguely productive for the whole week in fact... other than 'diligently' falling asleep on lecture notes before midnight and waking up the next day at 7am... damn... the signs and symptoms of FYP syndrome maybe?
And it didn't help with today's lecturer throwing a question about our future careers... Ultimately, which career would you be geniunely happy with? Which would be the one that makes you jump eagerly out of bed every morning?
Sigh, this disillusioned student doesn't know... pharmacy, marketing, advertising? The peril of possessing such contrasting interests, and just being perpetually fickle-minded...
Shall cross my fingers and hope this feeling wears off next week...
But for now, think i'll just look forward to latin fiesta at union tonight... and yingyi's b'day celeb tomorrow... thank goodness for the weekend...

Liquid Silver
Workshops @Jitters
It was Liquid Silver weekend, with Al ‘Liquid Silver’ Espinoza and his partner Karla's workshops on "US Millenium style" salsa... basically a combination of hip hop and salsa... tho I felt I was doing more club-like wriggles and shakes, haha...
The combinations were easier and shorter than expected, partly because there were some beginners who attended as well... damn, should have crashed the advanced classes, lol...But I shan't complain too much, at least I got the hang of double turns and hand-flips, I think... heh...
Pics from Porshee as usual... thanks!
The gang with Al & Karla...

Eddie jumps... Yingyi lags, for the 6th time...heh

Charlie's Angels...

Salsa Beach Party @Sentosa
Missed out "Salsa at the beach party" at Sentosa on Sat...
Damn should have been there for the fun, heh... maybe next time eh?
(Was figuring out how you guys would have danced on sand...but ceh, they had a platform issit...haha)
Salsa on the beach...

The Fanatico performers....

S'pore Salsa Competition @DXO
Redeemed myself by checking out the Finale party at DXO...
The contestants for the S'pore Open Salsa competition were simply amazing: the intricate stunts, the clean lines, the perfectly timed accents (and the skimpy costumes, wah lau)... inspired to audition for the Fanatico team, a salsa performance group... shall practice hard for next year maybe, haha...
Too bad didn't have any pics from that night... since Yingyi's cam was with Peter who disappeared during the competition...oops... but had lotsa fun anyway... even when I had the shock of my life (as well as others I guess, heh) concussing on the dancefloor... haha... how unglam... Thanks lots guys for the concern n all, hope I didn't give too much of a scare, heh...

So the lesson of the day is to not have all these factors into play:
1. Hypoglycemia (low sugar level, ate too early lah)
2. Dehydration + Alcohol
3. Exhaustion (lil sleep, lotsa dance, heh)
4. Hypoxia (ok i'm exaggerating, it was basically stuffy)
5. Anemia (or so as discovered from the lab test, but it's mild lah)
Ok enough medical talk... I'm perfectly alright now, as approved by the doc, heh... So no worries! Yingyi do send the pics soonest ya? :o)

"Dear God..."
Got this forwarded from dad...
An absolutely adorable and funny collection of children's perceptions...
That creates a warm fuzzy glow within even on your bleakest days...

Classmates Outing
Ok... so the pics from my Bugis b'day outing with classmates were a bit overdue...
But what the heck, I'm still gonna post them up, heh...
Thanks Mel for organising it! :o)
Had earthquake (again!) for main course... coz we had to wait for the discount time slot at Pastamania, being the cheapo penniless students we are, heh...
Initially wanted to check out Gelato, but realised it was a generic one, so off to Swensen's again... haiya dunno when i'll be able to savour their sinful waffles... soon lah...*drool*
The pharma bunch...

Steven, Mel, Kim...

Kah Leong, Ling, Sze Min...

The highlight of the day was Ling's super spicy chicken pasta, which she had so generously garnished with half a bottle of Tobasco, heh... and believe me, never underestimated its 'pedas' power just because it's not cilipadi... as proven by our heroine's more plump, luscious lips than usual, heh...
(Before) A full bottle......... (After) Half of it...*hic*

Anyway, I actually got a b'day cake (Creamy cheesecake from Breadtalk, wah lau), and a huge on that is... until we ended up lugging the box back to class to be distributed to the 'needy ones', heh...
Wishin' and hopin' ....

Not to forget the Swensen's balloon I was stuck with (yes that was in its glory days before it got all shrunken in the previous Prezzies post), which made me feel like an overgrown kid... but ah, it was worth the signatures & wishes anyway :o)
Thanks guys for the cake & all the fun :o)
Now if the rest of my wishes would come true... heh...

Maybe it's coz the weekend'll start tom with salsa...

Intuition
What do you do...
When your instincts had always governed your life of decisions and actions...
Only to find it thrown out of the window when you observed what you thought had defied your assumptions...
Dejected, you swore never to trust those silly little intuitions again...
Did a silly thing or two to get them over your head...
When the skies cleared and you realized those intuitions were right all along in a sea of misinterpretations... but the damage had already been done...

23?? *Gasp*
Bday Highlights
Turned 23 last week... and feeling old and unemployed, haha...
Nevertheless, this year's one of my best bday's... never had so many ppl wishing me, nor had as many celebrations before... Friday with Aca & their "Sara" Lee cake, heh... Sat with Rockers, Sun with neighbors, & next week with classmates...
Had the best (granted) wish list this year too...syiok :o)
1. Ipod shuffle
2. Dance shoes (when I find it, haha)
3. Ipod skin (also yet to be found)
4. Adidas perfume
5. Ear rings
6. Bracelet x 2
7. Swiss choc (mmm)
8. Dinner / Lunch x 3
Now if only someone sends me a gorgeous, sexy hunk with washboard abs wrapped (only) with a ribbon, it would be perfect, ahahaha... ahem, must be the alcohol...
Neighbor's outing:
Sadly, only so few of us turned up, due to the last min changes, sorry! Poor Ole & Lynn fell victim to the flu bug too, glad their alrite now... :o)
Had to work even on my b'day, singing a Destiny's Child's medley for The Magnets (Acappella) workshop... Oklar it was worth it thrashing Sheares & getting the Magnets all excited with our tubes & err, Beyonce -like shakes, haha....
Anyways, had dinner at the Crustacean... superb desserts, esp. the choc cake, definitely worth the 20min wait! And thanks lots Liyi & Ophe for waiting hours for us to rush back from town... at least I got my candle blown by midnight heh... & we still enjoyed ourselves bitching & gossiping from crushes to Felie's adventures with the auntie from hell... heh... we'll have another outing soon yeah? :o) Maybe for my next hair show? hee...
Me and my lil' bday cake :o)
Rockers outing:
Had dinner at Swensen's... Earthquake was marvellous (sooo sinful, but I dun caaaarreeee).... Took some photos with Ah Lim's big-ass camera...
The list...
Yes I can be that anal even with a gathering, haha...
(Ok my bad, Lin & Pam were supposed to be on the left column too, oops)...
The senior babes... *preen* *smile* *pose*
Soon everyone started snatching Lin's huge uncle specs to pose in them...
Supermodel no. 1...
Supermodel no. 2...
And err... Ah pek no. 3?
Then Ah Leem decided that he should prove he has professional skills worthy of his big-ass camera...
Guess which shot was his...
Rape of the earthquakes... noooooo~~~
(Vic & Ah Leem: muahahahha... *drool*)
As guilt on the 2 earthquakes settled in, we decided to embrace the healthy lifestyle of walking (yes walk!) from Millennia Walk to Clarke Quay...
30 mins later, after many detours, moanings and complaints... we collapsed at the MRT...
Finally we reached Blue Bar Bistro...
13 people happily squeezed in a corner to some booze and great music from the 2 bands (Parking lot pimps, and what's the other Filipino band again?)
And yup I agree the walk was worth the harmony & skills of both bands... glad we stayed to catch their rendition of Kiss from a rose, Stars & Heaven knows...
Nope, I ain't high... *hic* *hugs glass of martini*
And lastly off to Shah Alam (wuuttttt??) mamak behind Boat Quay...
Sweet Laremy was so thoughtful to join us all the way from Bishan... touched!
The highlight was of course Ah pek Vic's classic devouring of sup tulang, complete with bone knocking, horrifying sucking noises, and gravy-covered hands (hands, not just fingers)...
As proof, I included a pic of traumatised Ben...
You'll never look at Ah pek Vic the same way ever again...
Anyway, thanks so much guys for coming down...
Had a great time! Feelin' so loved, hehe...
Goodbye Wingyee!
Checked out LADC's salsa social night a few weeks ago...
Quite a quaint little shophouse with a romantic, classy ambience for dancing.. Tho I spend most of my time gaping since the dancefloor was covered with experienced & skilled couples it just puts me to shame... sigh...
Hung out with some of them at Mac's & caught The Maid (damn, wasn't as scary as I expected... tho it was entertaining watching it with one nodding away and three squeaming about, heh)...
The rest of the pics are by Porshee... dammit, I wanna get a digital SLR too, really good stuff!
Adeline & I...
A couple of weeks ago was Wingyee's last lesson at Jitterbugs before she flew off to the UK... had a farewell outing with supper at Newton Circus (too bad Keith couldn't join us, had to work at Barcelona as usual)... the guys made her guzzle down a bottle of beer, which she hated, poor thing... then adjourned to Porshee's for more overnight drinking & dancing (salsa, hiphop & goodness knows wat, haha)... Eventually everyone got knocked out on the floor at 6am... Had to drag ourselves to breakfast & back home...
A crazy fun time nevertheless with this bunch of wacky ppl, heh...
Keep in touch gal! Dun go too crazy over there ya? :o)
And a broken back...
Huddle huddle...
Threesome salsa...

Blondie and the Olive Oil
Blondie Night
Didn't I say I was gonna be blonde for TGIO?
I was initially excited to be only one wearing a blonde wig... coz I thought I would be getting the kewl Roxette/Bon Jovi hair-do, until Zhonghan smirkingly tossed me this mother-of-all lion mane... Oh f**k...
2 days later, past the screams of horror & screeches of laughter from neighbors & Lynn's regular boys, I dejectedly accepted lovely role of the (assetless) Dolly Parton of the "Smelly Pink Panties" band (I still dunno how the heck they came up with that, eurgh)... since I was the only gal in the Mat Rock band... dammit... oh well, at least I had my revenge of sludging red paint across their faces haha... (great idea of Dad's... the beauty of having a hip arty dad, heh... u rock! And noooo it's not Ninja turtles k???)... and we got the crowd roaring to an 80's female medley... and of course, me fav "I'll be there for yooouuuu" :o)

Sigh, how traumatic... my first & last year performing as a blondie, which I desperately hope I wouldn't be remembered by when I graduate... not to mention the absolute entertainment I provided to my virgin groupie classmates & SMSU mates... sigh...
Oh well, at least the Rockers had their own share of wearing gigantic afro wigs, nerdy glasses or ah beng hair-dos, heh...
(For more pics, see cJaY's, aH boO's or aH liM's...)

"B-I-N-G-O and bingo was his name ohhhh~~~"

And since I had the bird's nest stuck on my head for the rest of the night, I decided to make my 20 bucks worthwhile tasting the experience of a blonde air-head with my fav band men...
and Ah beng...
Aarrgghh... attacked by Ceena geek!

Final year performing TGIO... melancholic yet traumatised, what a mix of emotions, haha... It has been good anyway... esp. post pizza/booze supper... heh... Gonna miss this lots soon :o(
Olive Oil Virgin Experience
Yess I finally attempted cooking sth substantial for the masses! Ok, so it was Ah Lim's infamous olive oil pasta recipe, but at least I touched the ladle... and it was the first to be finished... hee
Now just gimme another 5 years or so, I would have come up with another recipe by then, ahem...

Rockers supper at Keith's was the usual agenda...
Followed by indoor boozing & movie viewing...
As usual, the girls snagged the baileys n started dunking choc ice cream into it (and yup Pam was the first to go, heh)...
And mahjong...
Note the aftermath of the binging session in the foreground...
Attempted 2 games out of hours of 'observations'...apparently I didn't inherit Mum's mahjong kaki blood, still cluelessly lost...
All-in-all, it was still fun, and we enjoyed the air-con, heh...
And I swear the kois have grown much bigger...
Alrite, shall blog about the Bday & Wingyee's farewell party next...
