MeTube

3rd paper in a row at 1pm tmr, and what am I doing?

Procrastinator.

Look what I've dug up from YouTube...

What the heck are the TGIO '05 clips doing there??

Omg how embarassing, Joyride was a bad song choice *shudder*

So I only uploaded the best bit, duet with Surath on Bon Jovi's "I'll be there for you"

Also found a preview clip of Burn the Floor...

(Got free tix to the show! :D)

A dance performance showcasing professional ballroom & latin dancers worldwide....

The owner suspiciously hints of Miss Bertisapoo... did you take this vid, babe?

Love this 3rd ad clip...

Reinforces a woman's appreciation of singlehood... hah

Shuffle quiz

As you've noticed...
I've been so lazy tt I only blog words for the past posts...

Millions of pics to upload...
But tt'll have to wait...

Today's special:
Ah leem's & Cj's little music quiz

I'm soooo gonna swear off S'pore Idol songs now...
Delete delete!!!

Go to your music player of choice and put it on shuffle. Say the following questions aloud, and press play. Use the song title as the answer to the question. NO CHEATING!!!

How does the world see me?
I Dream - Taufik Batisah
(Wuttt, ok so i'm an idealist, but I ain't an idol fan nor a patriotic eejit :P)

Will I have a happy life?
God Smack - Alice in Chains
(Uh oh, in the black books, no wonder I can't seem to escape from all those silly blunders)

What do my friends really think of me?
#1 Crush - Garbage
(Oooo... I enjoy my frens very very much, hahaha)

Do people secretly lust after me?
One - U2
(Hmm, so I ain't gonna be a superstar... oh well, one secret stalker's better than none)

How can I make myself happy?
Sway - Olinda Cho
(Hahaha, got this rite... salsa/chacha here I come... but wat's up with the S'pore Idols man?? Eee)

What should I do with my life?
Part time lover - Stevie Wonder
(OMG... Noooooo wayyyyyy~~~~)

Will I ever have children?
THX Robot Soundtrack
(U mean bratty robot children? No thanks man... and yeah, can't have these kinda sound effects on my playlist issit... used it for film art video project lah)

What is some good advice for me?
All in the family - Korn
(On a positive note, family's the best... as long as it's not dysfunctional as Korn's, heh)

How will I be remembered?
Do you have a little time - Dido
(As the superbusy powerwoman perhaps?)

What is my signature dancing song?
I dream - Singapore Idol Finals
(Wuttttt.... nooooo... I'm so gonna delete them all!!!)

What do I think my current theme song is?
Foolish heart - Allison Krauss
(Righto... men... bastards... lol)

What does everyone else think my current theme song is?

The Singalasian

What's the difference between S'poreans and M'sians?

For one,
At the immigration centre's ladies,

You'll always see a single queue for the row of cubicles...
Until a fat auntie shoves herself through to stand in front of one of the doors...

"No line what!"

You see, life's more exciting when you dare to take more chances...

Coz you'll never know when u'll get previous occupant's 10 min worth of explosive diarrhea...
Or 15 min worth of mummy-and-screaming-lil-brats scuffle and aiming woes...
When you yourself have been fending off your own 120 min worth of bladder horror...

Don't get me wrong, I ain't a traitor... (yet?)
I embrace its vibrant life, heterogeneity and all...
But there's a limit to the truly asian aunthenticity one can ever take...

There's a reason why I'm the Singalasian while the girl next door's Malayporean rite?
Haha, okok besides the obvious reason tt Mandarin still doesn't exist in my vocab even after a level 2000 module, lol... (I know, I suck!)

Anyway final exams of my uni life to be over by May 2...
Can't wait...
Then I'll be freeee~~~~

Glow In The Dark

Whoa...

To think that I was supposed to be less busy after JamX...
Underestimated the damage of FYP and The Auditions...
But tt would be bedtime story for another day...

Today's rant day...

Maybe I've gotten tired with the many hasty judgements ppl made...
Thinking that one meeting, one laugh, one frown, one word would give one the authority to slap a permanent label on a person's character...

Hence the battle between the extreme impressions...
Absolut phantom/geek vs. Absolut pleasure-seeker...
Fickle-mindednes vs. Unbridled determination...

Deceptively simple conclusions made with the snap of a finger...
Skewed only to one narrow angle...
Many failing to stop... to pause... to understand...
The myriad of other factors making up the complexity of an individual...

What about the childhood history tt built the her foundation of principles and values?
The life-changing decisions and events that shaped her into what she had become?
The struggles and sacrifices tt strengthened or weakened her?
The unmentioned sadness and worries beneath a facade of cheerfulness?
The reserved bulk of compassion and kindness harboured so carefully?

So the next time you claim you know one well...
Expecially a complex one...
Take a lil more time getting the facts right...
Before stumbling about with the wrong judgement

It's Alive!

Yes, my blog is officially dead... as expected...

*Sheepish grin*

I'll be more hardworking come May lah,
if i'm not busy travelling around celebrating post-final year freedom, heh...
To ease your troubles, I shall put them updates on my nick ala Wingyee, ahah...

Anyway, here are some ad hoc updates based on dodgy pics taken from my new phone...

i know
i know

i'm so slow...

But what to do, it is my first camera what... all 1.3 M pixels worth of it... haha...
Someone sponsor me a real one soon to justify my remarkable skills, ahem...

First up...
Lovely roses and the handsome watch...

Being the typical overexcited female adolescent,
Couldn't help but experiment one's fav subject...
Aww come on, it didn't turn out that bad wat...

More narcissism, and yes,
The Rachels were featured on Funky Grad... kewl

Which reminds me... The best Rockers group pic at jamx.. ahh memories... :o)

We had the rare opportunity to have 'A World Less Ordinary' recorded at SAE studio, courtesy of audio engineers Jerome & JC...

The studio itself and the 4 divas (ok ignore the ah ma at the side, hurhur)...

An experience of a lifetime, since it felt like a real multi-million dollar kinda music recording... We had a taste of the graveyard shift shivering in the cold lil room from 7pm to 11am (I only started singing at 4am) to the point where everyone got bonkers... esp. Shi Li... who went around taking wacky videos of herself, heh...

Nevertheless, the guys were professional it got Miss High Standards me pretty impressed... heh

Digital proof of mad Shi Li at 6am...

and sound engineer no. 1, Jerome, fast asleep with a pillow...

Sound engineer no. 2, JC with the 90 000 dollar console...

that is capable of a 'snake dance' demo... it's just awsome lah

An enjoyable yet surreal experience...

esp. with Rachel scaring the hell out of everyone when the studio alarm was accidentally set off in the middle of the night... haha...

Sigh, back to the dingy lil band room...

Here we see the Rockfest band jamming away... go Ah Boo!

A bored Victor decided to abduct our cute and cuddly mascot 'Weiguang' and bondaged the poor fella up...

eeeeeeeeeeee

On a different note, I decided to take some lab pics on the last day of practical to show you guys what we bohliau pharmacy students do for every 3 hour session...

The first in Natural product practical...

some titration involving the change in the voltage reading (left) or the change of color of the indicator from colorless to pink...

Another practical on dosage form...

where we made capsules and tablets (which would be irrelevant anyway since machines are used nowadays... sigh)...

in our cheap and tattered labcoats...

At least this experiment was interesting:

To coat the sugar pellets with a color film...

like these pretty ones in bottles

Made the call for Red... since no one has used that color yet...

made up the coloring solution, which really looked like Bloody Mary...

Next in went the pellets into the coating machine (Wurster fluid bed dryer) that blows the pellets and the fine spray of coloring upwards, similar to how a fountain works... gradually coating the pellets to an even color...

But erm, unfortunately... the first time went disastrously wrong when the spray rate was too high... and it ended up looking like the scene of a gory accident... eg. a finger that got stuck in the machine and got grinded up, haha

But they still turned out fine at the end of the day...

voila, our Bloody Mary pellets...

and the multi-colored capsules filled with such pellets...

spot the rainbow and Spore flag versions...

And finally, the last pics of the classmates' Vendetta movie outing...
The buidling @Atrium (heard MTV's there)...

The 3 stooges and the Ice Age 2 ad...

The 3 stooges close up...

Sesame Street Quiz

Couldn't resist such a cute quiz based on my fav childhood programme...

Am I that anal now?

Maybe I should start counting the books and boxes in my room...

Muahahaha~~

The Count
You scored 64% Organization, 36% abstract, and 49% extroverted!

This test measured 3 variables.

You are mostly organized, more concrete, and both introverted and extroverted.

Here is why are you The Count.

You are both somewhat organized. You have a good idea where you put things and you probably keep your place reasonably clean. You aren't totally obsessed with neatness though. The Count is obsessive compulsive and needs to always count what he has. But hey, if he was really organized, he wouldn't have to count at all.

You both are concrete thinkers. The Count is very mathminded and wants to know what he has and where it is. His purpose in life is clear. You probably also know what you want in life, and you have a real plan toward achieving it. You aren't likely to throw everything away to take a risky chance.

You are both somewhat introverted. The Count is quite obsessed with himself and the things that belong to him. At the same time he has had 2 girlfriends and he has guests in his castle. Like The Count, you probably like to have some time to yourself, but you do appreciate spending time with your friends, and you aren't scared of social situations.

The other possible characters are
Oscar the Grouch
Big Bird
Snuffleupagus
Ernie
Elmo
Kermit the Frog
Grover
Cookie Monster
Guy Smiley
Bert

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback! Also if you want to tell me your favorite Sesame Street character, I can total them up and post them here. Perhaps your choice will win!

Lanterns, Donuts & The Photo Whore

Yes yes she's still alive, barely...

Pulse, check.
Breathing, yeah... thru a straw.
Blood pressure: thru the roof.
No. of profanities a day: shall not go there.

Study break, without the studying...

Current nick says it all... Project deadlines for Feb:
18th: Lit review proj
20th: Natural products proj
21st: FYP part 1, Pre-reg career fair, 1 interview
22nd: Dosage form proj, 3 interviews
23rd: 1 interview
27th: FYP part 2 (Final draft)

Kill me.

*Inhales slowly*
*Meditates in lotus position: "Hummmmmmm"*

On a lighter note...

Red Lanterns

This year's hall production
"Memories of a Red Autumn" has come and passed...

Excellent job on the music (Music director Keith, u rock!) and the set :)
Woah and I am still amazed with the kissing scene, hahaha... to think tt they practised it countless times too, lol...

Char's the hottest mamasan there la, proud of u gal!
And Eugene Ong as always, with his dramatic acting & booming voice...

But of course, things would have screwed up w/o our-ever-so-impt 'sai kang' specialists Ah Boo and Ah Leem & the Production band themselves... hehe ... great job!

(For the whiny bits... ask YY... hahaha :P)

Krispy Kreme Virgin Experience

Finally sunken my teeth into the infamous Krispy Kreme...
Travelled all the way to YY's Fun-o-rama at Acjc on a sat morn with Brian...
(20 bucks for a mug... 100 for a 1kg cake??? Ripoff...)

First impression: "Wah, so small?"
Tot American donuts = bagles = supersized like McD's burgers

Fat hope.

Since when do they always look as good and big as the picture huh.

Followed Brian's instructions:
Refridgerate them... or microwave High 8 secs
(any longer and the filled ones'll exploded... tried & tested)

Verdict: Pretty good taste, tho overpriced and diabetically sweet.
I want more more more :P

Particularly these three tempting flavours... mmmmm

Smart asses... they even make money out of the donut holes... wutttt

The Photo Whore

Yessss... after getting my new phone :D
Couldn't stand the old one tt kept dying every other min... damn battery contact.
It shall be the digicam stand-in for the mo.

Now pose.

Cost a freakin' 500 tho... dammit.
They and their damn foreign policies.
Heart pain.

Still love my phone tho.

Johari and the Future

My turn for some bohliaoness of couse, lol...

Absolutely elated to be working in the hospital...
Judging from the traumatic interviews underwent...

Gotta be a good gal now...

Reddin' New Year

A spanking new watch to usher in the new year...
In hues of red that is, heh...

Totally love it, tho it could've looked better in real life...
So it's not so bad tt my loyal old Irony went all cranky...
This one can even double as a bangle for gigs, lol...

And at least I'm sure not many would be wearing the same piece...

I know... I'm a sucker for designs :P

In a Reverie

Highlight of Reverie's concert:
(Other than warbling to I'll be there for you and Enter sandman)

Paul Gilbert's 1:38-long song...

"There are 6 billion people on this planet,

But I'll only ever fall in love with two,
One is a black and white photo of Grace Kelley,
And the other you might like to know is you"

It's been on repeat n driving my neighbor nuts...
But I dun care, hahahaha...

(Dammit... Really thought it was a ticket :P)

Following pics with permission from Steven...
(Unofficial photographer of the day, lol)
Well done, guys! :o)

The Band @The Rock concert
(LT13 never looked so good, haha)

Opening act by Lin's Dubious Brothers (JamX finals kaki)...
Guitar-vocals duet...

Jon...
Keith... Shane...
(Ah leem i dun see uuuuuuuu!)

We Got In!!

And best of all, we clinched the
Best Original Composition

bwahahhaa~~~
So they really like our rojak compo n screwed-up lyrics on love eh?
(Heard we got a pda, but wait... how do u split ONE pda?)

The warblers Shi Li n I at work...
(Credits to Steven, Porshee, Yijia & Shi Li's friend for the pics)

Weiguang, Victor n Ivan on a goreng spree...

My drumstand and I...

My mike n I...

Oh AND it proved to the NTU OVERDRIVE judges what they've been missing out on, hah!

Absolutely exhilarated since we got more than what we hoped for...
finally made my 4 years of stay in hall much worthwhile :D
Which has been a far cry from the supposed life of scandalous hostelites and campus sex sports... hahahaa...

Guess it pretty have been a lucky day:
Flagging a Maxicab to the comp ($2.40 vs. $18 booking)...
Rain ceasing ONLY during our performance
(supporters could cheer w/o being soaked)...

Thanks a mil to our dear peeps who braved the rain just to catch us:
Fellow Rockers & Acas, Salsa peeps, Nj juniors, Classmates, Gsk peeps and Reverie...
Not to forget mum & dad's support miles away :)

The ever supportive salsa peeps
+ Jinsheng (oops pardon the beret)...

Even the mats were our fans... lol...

The Rachels @JamX

"A World Less Ordinary"
(An original)

Time slot: Sat 21 Jan 4.45 pm

Venue: Youth Park (Opp Cineleisure)

Affiliation: KR Rockers
Cya there peeps!

P.S. Cannot advertise issit... my 1st n last opportunity to contribute my 2 cents worth of singing in a band competition wat, haha...
Hope to get into finals (results will be announced Sun).

P.P.S: Also realised our title (Sarah's brainchild) sounded similar to a song by Carbon Leaf and the movie itself A Life Less Ordinary ... oh, like we give a damn, lol...

P.P.P.S: Did a rough recording last week... it was pretty crap...
So gonna warble, and pray harder... haha

Best highlights of the band practices:

1. Lyrics contributions
(when it was still skewed towards a certain issue)

Rach: You rock my world boy, but do you rock HIS too?

Rach (& a bit of Sher):
(Tease) me, (please) me....But don’t play me like a toy
You know you’ll satisfy me....You turn me upside down boy

Sher: Filled the room with a hair ablaze...
Caught my eye through the smoky haze...

2. Shili works her charm

Shili: "blabla... and when victor climaxes...."
Vic: "OoOooo... It'll take a long time then!"
(Ed: she meant guitar solo... haha)

3. 3-way with Shili & Ah Lim til 6am
(Msn phone lah, wat r u thinking :P)

a) Ah Lim singing and Numaei-ing

b) Darth Vader series:
Lim: "Shili, Wa si lu lau pek..."
Shili: "Lu orang tua lah..."
Lim: "Lu si orang utan lah dei..."

Dec 05 in Photos

Xmas Eve @Subang

Disclaimer:
Pics courtesy of Jason & Porshee.
Yet to own a cam myself, as reflected on the wishlist, so too bad...
I'll still be cheapo n nick photos ard :P

The start of the Xmas weekend spent bk in Msia... with the SMSU gang savouring mouth-watering seafood and crrraaaabbb for lunch... while I had my measly meal of a sandwich while being stuck in a coach in a jam... grrr

Met up at Coffee Bean in shades of red and santa caps in lieu of the xmas spirit... Chi Wei's the best-dressed in PINK... apt for his character, heh

Oh I admit, the only thing red on me was my streak of hair... and it still counts :P ...
Jacin n I took turns being camera shy...

Thau Shen violated the red shades rule...
and was gonna be banned to wear the santa cap for the whole night...
including the club at Pyramid...

Boxing Day @Aquaria

Boxing Day at the previously mentioned Aquaria KLCC...
with a spineless Sherry embracing the acrylic hemisphere...

Getting bored at the queue to the entrance...

The tunnel... ain't it look like Underwater World?

The aquarium

More fishy encounters... with the prehistoric-like crustacean and the psychedelic eel...
now we know where our batik prints come from...

The fish, the drowning tree and Mike...

Luminescent fishscales...

Rub-a-dub-dub... 5 in a tub

Spot the underwater sea monsters...
Sebastian... and the "Loch Ness"...

Eating fish after seeing fish at Manhattan Fish Market...
the conventional ones stuck to fish n chips...

Unlike us 4 gals... who jealously guarded our precious seafood platter from the prying eyes of the others with a flimsy barricade of menus... oh we don't really care...

Geri's Farewell Party

The Xmas pressies!
CW: The "one-of-a-kind" flower, Tinkerbell, the red-hot lamp, the Absolut mini series...

The more hilarious ones:
the Drinking game, the Flower, the Butterfly and the Boobies...
no prizes needed for guessing whose brainchild it is...

Can you see the grimace in anticipation of the opening of the presents?

Playing balloon marionettes...

Oops haven't written the cards yet...

New Year's Eve @S'pore

And finally Kenneth's bday party on new year's eve itself...
suddenly ended up the official cake cutter...
not bad for someone who rarely holds a knife... haha

The food was good, what with Northern Indian... mmm, missing the UK tikka masala man...
Brian came along with a bunch of new year tophats and halos... couldn't resist a few broadway poses with my toyboys, hahaha

Formed an alliance with Cheryl to tease poor Eddie..muahaha

Meet Jinsheng and his inflatable Judy...
she does need lotsa blowing power...

Then off to Clarke Quay for the countdown...
only caught half of the Esplanade fireworks (the damn building was blocking the view lah)...
and suffered the full wrath of the snow spray war on the bridge...
even with us getting a few scratches while hiding in the bushes...
nope didn't see any ass grabbings, unfortunately...

The Fellowship of the Salseros...
squashed between Porshee and Brian, barely getting my head in the pic...
but Happy New Year all the same! :D

After a bit of running about in Clarke Quay dodging snow sprays and prancing around to random music (let me hear u say YYMMCCAA~~~) and ogling jealously at huge Bentleys and Lambos...
the salsa gang adjourned to Cheryl's for part 2 of the Drinking game...
which fortunately didn't turn out as mad as the eventful night at Brian's...

The culprit itself...
YY's genius of a Drinking game...
unearthing the worst of a Pandora's box...
I swear all the damn spaces are about taking at least 1 drink...
Going to the Bar was the ultimate.. with drinks the no. of times on the dice... madness

Team Sherry litterally became one when Eddie pulled out of allergy... and Peter had to leave... wutttt... leaving poor me alone to the mercy of the other teams... well at least I wasn't the first to zonk out, hor Porshee? haha...
Tho I didn't get to escape from the forfeit of being pecked by Eddie...
While Porshee had his closet fantasy come true when Youyi snogged him... hard...

Other random pics

Some random pics of Phelicia's farewell party at Union bar...
Sweet YY got her a sinfully delicious choc mousse from Bakerzinn...
yes became official cake cutter again...

Quattro Loco and our many antics...
the Sherry pose, random bar top dancings... and the shagged cow look...

Shots with lady Phelicia...

Another random pic of Jazz@Southbridge...
spastic poses of Keith, Posh n Sher...
we were admittedly a bit of a rowdy bunch amongst the older, solemn customers... but hey, would've been mundane there w/o us aye?

The last random pic...
of a spontaneous Friday nite out after Salsa fiesta to gelato supper at Clarke Quay...

Then later lured to 1NiteStand by the free entry...
couldn't catch any comedy shows unfortunately, n the place was packed with ang mohs and spg's.. scary... also got picked up by a big hairy blondie... eeee...

Stayed up till 4 at Tanglin 7 Eleven debating whether to stayover at Porsh's...
got postponed instead to the next day at Brian's after salsa at Union...
with 3 of us literally zonked out before even touching any alcohol... hahaha...aiyo
